Los Angeles: A protest was held in front of Gotabaya’s son’s house in the United States demanding the return of former Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa who fled the country from Singapore. Sri Lankan protesters gathered in front of Gotabaya’s son Manoj Rajapaksa’s house in Los Angeles.

Gotabaya resigned from the post of president on July 13 following strong protests by the people.

The money in Gotabaya’s hands belongs to the people of Sri Lanka. The main demand of the protesters is that it should be returned. Gotabaya and his family are leading a luxurious life by looting people’s money. Only a few of us are protesting now. Protesters warn Manoj Rajapaksa that if your father does not get rid of his office and property, we will come back in thousands.

When Manoj Rajapaksa arrived in the US, he did not even have a home to live in. Later many houses were bought there. How is this possible? How is it possible to acquire so many things in such a short period of time? The protesters also demanded that Manoj Rajapaksa disclose his property details.

Earlier, fearing protests, Rajapaksa fled to the Maldives and from there to Singapore. Rajapaksa resigned after thousands of people stormed the president’s residence to protest the country’s severe financial crisis.
