The UP Police arrested two people in connection with the chanting of Hanuman Chalisa in Lucknow’s Lulumal. On Saturday, a group entered Lulumal and recited Hanuman Chalisa.
In connection with this, 15 people have been taken into police custody. Two people entered the mall and sat on the floor reciting Hanuman Chalisa. They were handed over to the police by the security personnel of the mall. Another group that tried to enter the mall was taken into custody and released by the police.
The police had registered a case under sections 153A (inciting enmity between two communities) and 295A (hurting religious sentiments) against those who offered prayers at Lulumal. After this, a case has been registered against those who recited Hanuman Chalisa.
