Pop Plus: The biggest k-pop stars in the world are coming to the small screen

by time news

Just last month the world was struck by astonishment – well okay, South Korea and anyone who is obsessed with k-pop culture – when the super-band BTS announced their cessation of action due to the band members’ desire to embark on solo careers, and we have already received reassuring news. Or in other words, cessation of activity does not necessarily mean ceasing to act.

Yesterday (16.6) the streaming service Disney Plus announced, with the help of a video uploaded to their Twitter account, a collaboration with the members of the largest kay-pop band in the world in the form of a pair of docu-series that will go on service in the near future. Given the fact that so far, since their big break a decade ago, the band members have avoided revealing too much of their personal lives – this is going to be an intriguing and unfiltered initial encounter with the audience. Well, okay, they’ll still have control over the ingredients, but we’ll take what we can.

Exact release dates for the series have not yet been announced, but it is known that the first to be released this year will be “Permission to Dance”, named after a song released last year, and will present a behind-the-scenes look at the band’s performance. After that, most likely during 2023, the series “BTS Monument: Beyond the Star” will be launched, which will already turn to the more intriguing side and provide a close glimpse into the personal lives of the band members. If the promise of a break really comes true, this will probably be the last piece of BTS seen in recent times, so at least it’s nice to know what to expect.
