The Madras High Court has rejected father Ramalingam’s request to stay the order for further post-mortem on the Chinna Salem schoolgirl’s body till the presence of their own doctor.

A 17-year-old student from Cuddalore has completed her 12th standard in a private school in Kaniyamur village near Kallakurichi. It is said that the school management contacted her parents on the 13th while she was staying in the school hostel and said that the student had committed suicide.

However, the parents and relatives are saying that there is a mystery in the death of the student. Meanwhile, yesterday’s protest demanding justice for the student’s death turned into a riot. The protestors entered the school where the student studied and smashed the buses there, damaged them and set them on fire. They also vandalized the school. In this case, Ramalingam, the father of the student, has filed a petition in the Madras High Court seeking an order to investigate the death of the student by the CBCID. In that petition, they have requested that the body of the student be ordered to be re-examined by the doctor they say.

Justice N appointed three government doctors and a retired forensic expert as the post-mortem team for the Kallakurichi school girl. Satish Kumar had ordered this morning. An appeal was made by the Ramalingam side in a bench of Justices Duraisamy and Sundar Mohan seeking to include a doctor nominated by their side in this panel.

But the judges have said that they cannot hear the criminal appeal case here and have to approach the Supreme Court. Subsequently, Ramalingam’s side appealed to Justice Satishkumar and demanded that a medical expert appointed by them be appointed for the re-mortem examination and the re-mortem should be stopped until then.

At that time, the judge questioned whether he was not satisfied with the order issued in the morning, even though a lawyer had been allowed on the side of the petitioner. If necessary, they can file a petition with the CBCID and the Chief Criminal Prosecutor to consider their request.
