A women’s production group market has been set up opposite the Commissioner’s office in Sivagangai. It was inaugurated by Chief Minister Stalin on June 8 at a welfare program distribution ceremony.

A factory in Arsini Muthupatti, a building containing 41 shops for the sale of products produced by women’s groups was built at a cost of 97 lakhs under the Rurban scheme under the Rural Livelihood Movement. It is set up to market the products produced by women’s groups. The shops built here are open-air shops

. There is a situation where it is not possible to protect the goods. Due to this, the Chief Minister is unable to operate the open shops. The women producers’ groups are ready to open the shops if necessary security arrangements are made in the shops set up in the market. Only 3 shops opened daily due to pressure from authorities. Especially vegetables were sold. Now the women’s production group market is completely closed and government funds are wasted.
