The NEET entrance exam for admission to medical courses was held last Sunday at 3,500 centers across the country. Across the country, 18.72 lakh candidates including 10.64 lakh female students were given permission to appear in the examination. More than 15 lakh students participated and wrote the exam.

In this case, there were complaints that in a college where the NEET exam was held in Kollam, Kerala, the students who appeared in the exam were made to remove their underwear and then allowed to write the exam. In a complaint filed by a student from Kollam Suranath, “When I went for the exam, the people there asked me to remove my underwear and top and checked me.

Like me, many students were stripped of their underwear and searched. The undressed underwear was kept in a room there. This has caused a lot of emotional distress,” he said. The police have registered a case and are investigating.

Kerala Education Minister Bindu had written a letter to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan asking that strict action should be taken against those involved. Following this, the Central Education Department has set up a fact-finding committee to investigate the incident.

This team, comprising top officials of the National Examinations Agency, is going to Kollam to investigate the matter.

In this situation, 5 women have been arrested in the matter of removing the underwear of students at the NEET examination center in Kollam. According to the police, 3 are employees of the examination agency and 2 are college employees. It is confirmed that the incident took place after examining the CCTV footage of the examination center premises.
