Mary Teresa: The Vatican

Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary of the Department of International Relations, has said that it is important to engage in dialogue tirelessly to bring peace to Ukraine, where the war continues.

In an interview with Vatican Correspondent Gerard O’Connell for the Jesus magazine “America”, Archbishop Gallagher shared his thoughts on the Church’s position on the Ukraine war and the Pope’s visit to Ukraine.

In order to maintain peace in Ukraine, Archbishop Gallagher emphasized that the international community should believe in dialogue and engage in it.

Recalling his recent visit to Ukraine, Archbishop Kalakar said that he learned about the determination and courage of the people of that country in the process of reconstruction, and at the same time, the sufferings that the people are going through.

Archbishop Gallagher has said that the Holy See has been calling for the initiation of negotiations and the establishment of peace in Ukraine, and that the Holy See has not received a clear invitation from Russia to act as a mediator in these peace talks.
