At the tripartite summit in Tehran, the three leaders continue to attack the West and talk about the future of Syria. Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, told President Putin that Iran and Russia must work together over time in many areas, and “stand firm against Western deception.”
Khamenei added that the US dollar should be removed from international trade and that this could be done gradually.
In Dubai, the commander of Iran’s ground forces, Heideri, said Iran was ready to export military equipment and weapons systems. He referred to reports of the sale of hundreds of Iranian UAVs to Russia.
Reuters reports that Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi told summit participants that his country is ready to work for a political solution in Syria.
“Only the Syrian people will decide the fate of Syria,” he said, “and no foreign involvement. The US military presence in Syria is illegal and undermines regional stability.”
