Hapoel Tel Aviv started the training camp in Serbia in a good way tonight (Wednesday), when they defeated Wojdovac 0: 1 from a goal by Idan Vered in the 62nd minute. Kobe Medicine’s trainees, especially signings Romerato Godfrey and Pablo Gonzalez, put up a nice pressure game that made it very difficult for the opponent and although they failed to make the goal, they left a good impression and it seems the Reds can be calm about the tie.
The first half opened with red control, as the players tried to get the ball into the box mainly through Dor Elo and Omar Senor on the right wing, or through Romerato Godfrey and Pablo Gonzalez who motivated Kobe Refuah’s attack. Already in the sixth minute, the team’s eight fans, who arrived in Serbia, lit three candles and stopped the game. Senior got into the most dangerous situation when he got a ball from Hisham to Ios inside the extension but his kick was not good enough and was sent off the line.
Kobi Refuah replaced a large number of players in the second half, which caused the Serbs to put more pressure and threaten Stefan Marinovic on the one hand, but left them exposed on defense on the other. In the 62nd minute, the Serbian goalkeeper went out towards the half to keep a ball away, could not control it with a shot and Idan Vered took advantage of it to send a great ball to the exposed net from 35 meters. Shavit Mazal reached a number of other situations and could have increased the result, but was stopped twice by the goalkeeper. On the other hand, the Serbs continued to press without a break, but a good and quiet game by Ido Sharon, who replaced the New Zealand national team goalkeeper, kept the Reds’ victory. Mazal was sent off in the 94th minute, but that did not affect the result. 0: 1 to Hapoel Tel Aviv, who leaves the game with cautious optimism.
The Reds will now continue in the training camp in Serbia ahead of the new season and will play two more games: against Imet in the country’s sub-league (Friday, 19:00) and against Vivodina from the senior league (Monday).
