Ukraine, wife Zelensky: “Our son wants to be a soldier”

Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska says the war in Ukraine made her nine-year-old son want to be a soldier. In an interview with US broadcaster NBC, President Zelensky’s wife said that now the only thing her son Kyrylo wants is to do “martial arts and learn how to use a rifle”.

“Before the war – he added – my son used to go to the folk dance ensemble. He played the piano. He learned English”. But after the invasion of Russia, “obviously he wants to be a soldier,” he said. “I can’t get him back to doing arts and humanities. But what I really want to make sure is that my son’s childhood is restored to him and that he enjoys life to the fullest.”
