About the film Light Years

‘Light Years’ is a film that combines science fiction, action and adventure, and tells the story of Buzz Light Years, the protagonist who inspired the character in “Toy Story”. The film follows the plots of the legendary space warrior after being launched into a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth, alongside his headquarters and crew.

While Buzz tries to find his way back home through space and time, he is joined by a group of motivated new recruits and their adorable friend, the Sox-robot cat. What complicates matters and threatens the mission, is the appearance of Zorg, who commands an army of cruel robots and holds a mysterious agenda.

The film is accompanied by the voices of: Chris Evans (Space Warrior Buzz Lightyear), Uzo Aduba (his headquarters and best friend, Elisha Hawthorne), and Peter Sun (Sox). Kiki Palmer, Tyke Watiti and Dale Souls dub the unit members (Lazy Hawthorne, Mo Morrison and Derby Steele). Zorg’s voice is voiced by James Brolin. The dubbing team also includes Marie McDonald-Lewis, who plays Ivan – the spacecraft’s navigation system, Isaiah Whitlock Jr., who dubbed Commander Bronside, Ephron Ramirez, who dubbed Irman Diaz, Keira Hirston who dubbed the young Izzy, and Tim Pick, who dubbed Control The mission (broadcast in the UK).

Directed by Angus McClain (co-director of the film “Finding Dory”). Production: Galin Sussman (“Toy Story: Time Has Forgotten”). Original Music: The award-winning composer, Michael Giachino (“Batman”, “Upstairs”).

The movie “Light Years” by Disney and Pixar is currently being shown in theaters. As mentioned, on August 3, 2022 the film will also be available on the Disney + service.
