Suresh hails from Mamallapuram area of Chengalpattu district. Her daughter Gajasupamitra (14 years old) is studying 9th standard in Government Higher Secondary School, Mamallapuram Pooncheri.
In this case, this evening, the practical test for the students of class 9 was going on in the classroom on the 2nd floor of the school.
It is said that the student Gajasupamitra was trying to write the exam with a bit paper in her hand. The teacher in the classroom has given advice and condemned this. He also told the student that she should bring her parents when she comes to school tomorrow.
Fearing this, the student Gajasupamitra suddenly tried to commit suicide by jumping down from the 2nd floor. The school teachers rescued the seriously injured student and sent her to Chengalpattu Government Hospital by ambulance.
Presently the student Gajasubamitra is admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital for further treatment. This incident has created a lot of excitement in Mamallapuram.
The Mamallapuram police have registered a case and are investigating the suicide attempt of the student.
