In this case, many village farmers are suffering due to the new procedure being implemented in providing crop loans. In this regard, the farmers of villages including Udumalai Tenboothinatha, Venkitapuram, Kurichikkottai have sent a complaint to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu through primary agricultural cooperative credit societies including Jallipatti, Pallapalayam, Thali, etc. The boundaries were demarcated and crop loans were also given to nearby village farmers. At present, revenue and panchayat boundaries are demarcated and crop loans are given only to the farmers of the area.
Thenboothinantham village is a private revenue village. There was no primary agricultural co-operative credit society. Similarly, farmers in Kurichikkottai, Venkitapuram and other villages are also denied crop loans in nearby Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Unions. At present, while the work for agricultural cultivation has intensified, thousands of farmers have been affected by not getting crop loans. Action should be taken in this regard and steps should be taken to provide crop loans as per the old practice.
