The Germany coach spoke after the qualification of her players for the semi-finals of the Euro. It could be against France.
Martina Voss-Tecklenburg (coach of Germany, who beat Austria 2-0 in the quarter-finals) : «We are obviously very happy to win 2-0 and to leave with a deserved victory. It was a hard-fought match with an opponent who gave us a lot of trouble. On the 1-0 goal, we played exactly as we wanted and at the break we made some adjustments in positioning. (In the first period) we didn’t go into the spaces we wanted to attack for lack of courage. We put in a double pivot after the break and that gave us more space. It was an exciting game for the spectators and I express my respect and congratulations to Austria who showed a very good level of play.
(On the first semi-final in a major tournament since 2016) It’s good, we’re proud, but we want to win this half, whoever it is. We know it will be a big challenge but we will give everything again and if we still manage not to concede a goal, the sweetest dreams will be allowed».
