It has been reported that Maruti Suzuki is going to launch the all-new Alto model in the Indian market on August 18. The entry-level hatchback model is said to be powered by an all-new platform and a new powertrain. The Alto will be followed by the launch of the Grand Vitara model by September.
The third-generation Alto model is said to be built on Maruti’s modular Hardect platform. Models like S Presso, Celerio, Wagon R, Ertiga and XL6 are already built on the same platform.
The new hatchback model is said to be available in India with two engine options. As such, this model could be offered with a 796cc petrol engine and a K10C 1.0-litre dual-jet unit. It is noteworthy that the same engine was also offered in the latest Maruti Suzuki S Presso model.
This engine produces 48 hp. Power, 69 Nm of torque is revealed. The K10C engine produces 67 hp. Power is capable of producing 89 Nm of torque.
