Delhi: India’s high jumper Tejaswin Shankar can compete in the Commonwealth Games. Tejaswin Shankar, who was not included in the team in the first phase, got a court order and joined the Indian team. Due to the delay, the Commonwealth authorities rejected the request for inclusion, but later decided to give the opportunity.

Tejaswin Shankar was included in the athletics team in place of Arokya Rajeev, who was earlier in the relay team. The Commonwealth Games authorities agreed to the demand of the Indian Olympic Association, although the law states that only athletes of the same category should be given a chance to substitute. 23-year-old Tejaswin Shankar is the national record holder.
