by time news

Anyone who hears his rough and deep voice will surely have no difficulty recognizing that this is singer and composer Amir Lev, one of the most unique and outstanding creators of music in Israel. Lev does this with texts and words that tell a story in each and every song in his unique way, accompanied by his mesmerizing melodies, which weave together his rare guitar playing.

He began his musical career in the 1980s, but as he himself stated, his first album was really his album ‘Amir Lev’, which was released in 1995. He began working on this album in 1991 together with Yossi Elephant, when the two managed to record about 2 songs before his sudden death of Elephant in September of the same year. The album received rave reviews and the love of the audience and the radio, among other things thanks to the hits ‘Aria and Ruthy’, ‘Hug Me’ and ‘Magic’.

In the period between the start of work on the album and its completion, Lev also received an invitation from Shlomo Artzi to work together on the song ‘I’m Coming’. The song, released in 1992 as part of my country’s masterpiece album, ‘Moon’, became one of his hits.

In 1998 Lev’s third album, ‘Once in a Lifetime’, was released, which continued the musical and textual line of his second album, and included songs such as ‘Blue and Green’, ‘New Year’s Eve’ and ‘Black Clouds’. Later, the albums ‘Sometimes I’m Happy’ (2004) which included ‘Paris’ and ‘October’, as well as the album ‘Everything Here’ (2009), with the social and political texts, which were expressed in songs such as ‘Balfour 7’ and ‘Route 1’.

For his sixth album, ‘Nogue Be Darachon’, released in 2014, he won the Acomm Award for Author of the Year.

Now, Lev embraced his new album ‘Roma’, which contains 10 songs produced by Ronen Sabo. This time too Lev combined wonderful music with poignant statements about the situation in the country. This Tuesday, July 26, Lev will hold a special performance at Barbie on the occasion of his new album, where he will also perform other favorite songs.

As part of the project ‘Artists edit Shabbat Hebrew’, exclusive to 103fm’s digital, Lev surprised by choosing his favorite Hebrew songs, and the lovely result is before you. Pleasant listening!
