The head of Ukraine’s intelligence services, Kirill Budnov, hinted in a television interview that Russian President Vladimir Putin used a double on his trip to Iran earlier this week, the Russian news agency RT reported.

Bodnov said in the interview: “I won’t give a direct answer, but I will suggest, please look at the moment when Putin, apparently, gets off the plane. Is that Putin?”

Bodnov did not elaborate beyond that, but Ukrainian media said the intelligence chief was referring to rumors that Putin uses doubles at public events, and to Putin’s limp when he got off the plane in Tehran.

In a speech given by the President of Russia in Moscow last Wednesday, he claimed that he was seen coughing in Iran because of the strong air conditioning that is operated in various places throughout the country. The Kremlin said this week that Putin’s health is good.

Putin’s health has become a hot topic in Western intelligence agencies. According to a report on the “Newsweek” website, American intelligence concluded that Putin has advanced cancer, and that he also suffers from Parkinson’s disease. Also, an officer in the Russian Federal Security Service claimed that Putin had been diagnosed with liver cancer, and that he only had three years to live. In addition, Budnov estimated that Putin suffers from a number of other serious illnesses.
