Tehran: A strong earthquake was felt in Iran. An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale was also felt in the UAE. The UAE National Earth Observatory confirmed that the earthquake occurred at 8.07 pm UAE time.

Residents said tremors were felt in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. But no casualties were reported anywhere in the UAE. No further information available.
