Members of the Night Wolves motorcycle club presented the film “Russian Forest” on the occasion of the birthday of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who turned 69 on October 7.

The film tells what prompted the “Night Wolves” to launch the “Russian Forest” campaign, why they launched an environmental campaign, and what gift they prepared for the Russian leader.

In 2019, the all-Russian campaign “Russian Forest” started in Sevastopol. The inspiration was the article of the same name by the writer Alexander Prokhanov. Then the “Night Wolves”, led by their leader Alexander Zaldastanov, also known as the Surgeon, organized the planting of seedlings in many regions of Russia, in places of forest fires.

“For a Russian, a forest is not only and not so much timber, it is much more … with the Russian forest, we associate the entire history of Russia with all its victories and achievements. The Russian Forest is not Greta Thunberg or Greenpeace, the Russian Forest is the Victory Forest, ”the action’s manifesto says.

The action has already been supported in different regions of Russia, on September 8, on the day of the liberation of Donbass from Nazi troops, the Russian Forest spread to Donetsk at Saur-Mogila. Motorcyclists planted 800 oak saplings in honor of the 800th anniversary of Alexander Nevsky, brought from different parts of Russia, personifying the valor and heroism of the Russian army and the Russian people.

On October 8, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said that the head of state celebrated his birthday on a busy schedule. Despite the holiday, the president discussed important issues by phone that had nothing to do with his birthday. Peskov also said that the president held an operational meeting of the permanent members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, who, of course, congratulated the Russian leader.
