Volcano Erupts in Southern Japan- People Urged to Evacuate

by time news

Rock erupts and flames erupt from the Sakurajima volcano in Kagoshima, southern Japan. Due to this, the government of the country has announced that the people in the surrounding area should leave immediately.

Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihiko Isozaki said there was no immediate information on damage from the volcano’s eruption.

In this regard, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has instructed to work with local municipalities to ensure damage prevention.

About 2.5 kilometers from the volcano, a large volcano is spewing flames. At the same time, the resulting smoke has reached a height of about 300 meters.

As a result, residential areas in Arimura City and Furusato City, located three kilometers from Sakurajima’s crater, should be on high alert, said Suyoshi Nakatsuji of the Volcano Observatory.
