State Shooting Competition

The 47th State Shooting Championship, Pistol and Rifle Shooting Competition started yesterday at the Rifle Club functioning at KK Nagar Armed Forces Complex, Trichy. About 1,300 contestants trained in shooting from all over Tamil Nadu participated in this. Collector Pradeep Kumar, Police Commissioner Karthikeyan, Rifle Club Coordinating Secretary Senthur Selvan and Treasurer Sirajuddin spoke in the opening ceremony. Ravikrishnan, Honorary Secretary of the National Rifle Association, delivered the inaugural address.

Medals for winners

Tamil Nadu Shooting Association Secretary Velshankar explained about the competitions. In this, competitions are held separately for the categories of 16, 19, 21 years, 21 to 45 years, 45 to 60 years and above 60 years, divided into juniors, youths and seniors.

Competitions for pistol shooters will be held till 28th and medals will be awarded to the winners. From the 29th to the 31st there will be a competition for rifle shooters. Commissioner Karthikeyan said that the winners will be able to participate in South India level shooting competition. Earlier, the Collector and Commissioner practiced shooting at the shooting training ground.
