Kerala Blasters’ entry into women’s football has always been a clear ambition of the club. The club had earlier appointed Rizwan as the director of the Kerala Blasters academy and women’s team. Former player and coach Sharif Khan AV will be the first head coach of the Kerala Blasters women’s team. His appointment is on a long-term contract.

As for Kerala Blasters FC, Rizwan, Director of Kerala Blasters FC Academy and Women’s Team, said the project had been in the works for some time. KBFC’s role towards that will be huge and our impact as a club will be very important,” added Rizwan.
