1,298 new cases of covid in UAE; No deaths in 24 hours

Abu Dhabi: The number of new covid cases in the UAE has been decreasing slightly for the past few days. According to the official data released by the Ministry of Health and Defense of the country, 1,298 people have been confirmed to be infected with the Covid-19 virus in the country today.

1,157 covid patients who were under treatment in the country have recovered in the last 24 hours. No deaths due to covid have been reported in the country in the last 24 hours. New patients in the country were detected from 1,57,949 newly conducted covid tests.

According to the figures so far, a total of 9,84,267 people have been confirmed to be infected with the Covid-19 virus in the UAE. Of these, 9,63,771 people have already recovered. A total of 2,332 people have died due to covid in the country. Currently there are 18,164 covid patients in the country.

Three more new cases of monkeypox have been confirmed in the UAE

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Health and Prevention announced that three new cases of monkeypox have been confirmed in the UAE. The ministry urged the public to follow preventive measures against the disease and exercise caution when traveling and in large crowds.

Officials informed that measures have been taken to deal with the disease. Contact tracing, follow-up and ensuring that the health sector is prepared to deal with outbreaks are constantly being taken.

The first case of monkey flu was reported in the UAE on May 24. The disease was confirmed by a 29-year-old visitor who came to the UAE from West Africa. The authorities informed that an infectious disease surveillance system is being established as per international standards in collaboration with health departments in the country with the aim of sustainable prevention and protection from infectious diseases.

Those who have been diagnosed with the disease are being treated in hospitals until they are completely cured. Home surveillance for not less than 21 days has also been prescribed for those who came in close contact with them. During this time, health status and compliance with home surveillance requirements will be monitored.
