Music composer Ilayaraja was sworn in as Member of Rajya Sabha (MP) on Monday. Then he took the oath in Tamil. The video of him taking oath as MP is going viral on social media.

In that way, music composer Ilayaraja, athlete PT Usha, Thamsala temple managing trustee Virendra Hegde, famous screenwriter V. Vijayendra Prasad were nominated as Rajya Sabha MPs.
In this situation, Ilayaraja was sworn in as an MP in the Rajya Sabha on Monday. He took oath in Tamil during his inauguration. Then Vice President Harivansh Narayan Singh led the House.
Ilayaraja, who has composed music for more than a thousand films in various languages including Tamil, was awarded the Padma Bhushan Award in 2010 and the Padma Vibhushan Award in 2018. Apart from being a music composer, he has also written many songs.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who recently congratulated him on his election as a member of the Rajya Sabha, said on his Twitter page, ‘Ilaya Raja, a master composer, has captivated people for generations with his music. His creations beautifully reflect many cultures. He rose from a humble background and achieved many feats. He mentioned that he is happy to be nominated as a member of the Rajya Sabha.
