8.90 lakh rupees were traded in Kallakurichi-Kallakurichi Market Committee. To Kallakurichi Market Committee yesterday, farmers brought 120 bags of maize, 40 bags of rye, 30 bags of groundnuts, 25 bags of sesame, 8 bags of red corn, 5 bags of ragi, 2 bags of urad, and 1 bag of millet. A bag of Maize cost Rs 2,379, Rye Rs 2,954, Groundnut Rs 7,090, Sesame Rs 8,632, Red Corn Rs 3,869, Ragi Rs 2,274, Urundu Rs 6,499 and Millet Rs 3,399. 231 bundles of agricultural products brought by 70 farmers to the committee were purchased for 8 lakh 90 thousand rupees.
Chinnasalem
92 bags of maize and one bag of sesame were brought for sale in Chinnasalem Market Committee. On an average, a bushel of maize cost Rs 2,388 and sesame Rs 5,510. 93 bundles of produce brought by 11 farmers were purchased for 2 lakh 23 thousand 867 rupees.
