You won’t believe what you can do with a little cannabis and a lot of butter. Just believe it

by time news

The assumption that we need to burn our lungs to feel high from cannabis is wrong. The truth is that cannabis can be consumed in many forms and styles and get the amazing feeling that we all want to feel. You must have heard about spice brownies that are sold in Amsterdam legally. The problem is that you’ve probably heard about them from the digging friend who described to you dozens of times how he couldn’t cross a crosswalk because he was stoned from one cookie. Don’t let this friend spoil your recommended experience, you’ll only get the possibility of one too many brownies and you may become the digger friend yourself.

Why even eat if you can smoke?
Good question. With or without marijuana, smoking is not a healthy thing. Sick people who receive a prescription for medical weed can’t always smoke it without further damaging their health, or alternatively simply don’t want to start smoking and stain their lungs because of it. True, there are many solutions such as vaping and cannabis oil, but have you ever thought of just going into the kitchen and cooking yourself a particularly satisfying meal that will make your stomach happy as well as your head? Why not actually?

How to begin?
Cooking that is mixed with cannabis is based on the correct preparation of the elements that can be produced from it: cannabis butter, cannabis cream for cooking, cannabis milk and even beef fat from cannabis (okay, the beef fat will be beef, and it would be more correct to say that it will be “from cannabis”. But we will not say the It’s because it comes out as a particularly annoying word.) All of these can be a link between the kitchen at our house and cannabis. I also didn’t think there was logic in my partner, who used to heat large flowers with cream and add it to yogurt, but he was right. The duty is to start from one of the bases we detailed before: the fatty base is the way in which the active cannabinoids, especially THC, are effectively absorbed through the stomach into the bloodstream, and from there to the nervous system that activates the sensation we know in the body. Please note that if you do not use a fatty base, the cannabinoids will break down during digestion and the food will not have a psychoactive effect.

What are the processes?
The fatty base helps the process of absorbing substances in the body, but the main thing is in the preparation of this base. When you cook the butter, cream or other ingredients together with the flowers, a chemical process called decarboxylation takes place that distills the THC into the oil. When you distill the cannabis, pay attention to the temperature limit – it must not exceed 150 degrees, because above this temperature the active ingredients may evaporate massively and the special food will lose its effect. Another point to pay attention to is the use of kitchen utensils coated with Teflon or another metallic separation layer, i.e. without exposed iron.

Doses, gentlemen, doses
Cooking with cannabis requires quite a bit of raw material. True, making wedding cakes that require 40 grams is not an option for those who do not receive a medical prescription every month. But adjusting doses for individuals is possible, and even with a few single grams you can do wonders. At the basis of the idea of cooking with cannabis is the quantitative interest and the weight of the food, these translate into the amount of diners who will eat from the dish. If the dish requires 14 grams of cannabis and is enough for 8 people, you can also prepare a dish for two people from only 3 grams.

Cannabis butter recipe:

Dry the cannabis in the oven for half an hour (very low heat!).
Cook the cannabis in a ratio of 1 gram to 20-25 grams of butter for 3 hours, preferably adding a glass of water along the way.
Filter the remaining flowers from the resulting butter. Refrigerate for two hours and then it’s ready!

And we have arranged for you a recipe for a whole quiche – you are welcome to cut it in half or in a quarter and prepare according to the amount you want:

The quiche base:

100 grams of soft cannabis butter (about 10 grams)
125 grams (half a cup) of white cheese
1.5 cups of self-raising flour
0.5 teaspoon of salt

Quiche filling:

1 large sweet potato or potato, coarsely grated
3 medium onions, chopped
4 scrambled eggs
1 tablespoon bread crumbs
1 cup of sour cream
1 cup cottage cheese
200 grams of grated yellow cheese
A pinch of nutmeg
Salt and pepper to taste
A little oil for frying

The preparation process:

Fry the onions in oil until they are lightly golden, then set aside.
Meanwhile, knead the ingredients for the base, until you get a uniform and stable dough.
Spread the dough on a lightly greased baking sheet, until it covers the entire surface of the sheet with an even layer. After flattening the dough, heat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius.
Mix the ingredients for the quiche filling, until a uniform and thick mixture is obtained.
After the mixing is finished, pour the filling on the dough and flatten it into an even layer.
Bake the pie in the oven for 45 minutes until golden, turn off the oven and let it cool in the closed oven for 15 minutes.

With appetite! We definitely don’t recommend having friends over for quiche without telling them it has cannabis in it. It’s not funny (and eat slowly and give it time to take effect, otherwise… you’ll find out for yourself).
