Jewelry worth a million dollars was robbed from a preacher known for his close friendship with the mayor of New York. The armed robbers broke into his church in Brooklyn, just as he was giving a sermon there

Bishop Lamore Miller-Whitehead, who lives a flamboyant lifestyle and can often be seen driving a Rolls-Royce through the city streets, gave a sermon in New York. .

In a video later removed from the church’s social media channels, Miller-Whitehead is heard asking worshipers just before the robbers entered the church: “How many of you lost your faith because you saw someone else die?” He is then seen getting down on his hands and knees and repeatedly saying, “Okay, okay” and a man is seen holding a gun and wearing a black sweatshirt. The man, who was also wearing a black face mask, was seen approaching Miller-Whitehead, who was hiding behind a gold stand, and pocketing the bishop’s jewels.

Another man, dressed in similar clothing, was seen heading towards Miller-Whitehead, lingering near him for a few minutes and then running away. Miller-Whitehead said in a video posted on Instagram that was later removed that the robbers tore off his necklace and held a gun in front of his infant daughter’s face while stealing his wife’s jewelry.

Police said the robbers fled in a white Mercedes last seen on Avenue D near the church in Brooklyn’s Canarsie neighborhood. Miller-Whitehead, 44, and Doss-Reis-Whitehead, 38, were not injured, police said. Their daughter was also unharmed.

In a video posted on Instagram, Miller-Whitehead said he felt a “demonic force” enter the church and wasn’t sure if the gunmen “wanted to shoot up the church or if they were just coming to rob.” He said he was thankful no one was hurt. “When I saw them come in with their guns, I told everybody to get out, everybody just get out,” said Whitehead, who offered a $50,000 reward Monday for information leading to the robbers’ arrest.
