Michael Ohana (Haggai Michaeli)
In the shadow of Thursday’s game against Istanbul in Shakshire, Maccabi Netanya is close to adding a new acquisition player. The midfielder of Beitar Jerusalem until recently, Michael Ohana, is on the verge of an agreement with the club and is expected to join on a contract for one season. The contact held talks with the professional manager Almog Cohen last week and this evening (Tuesday) the deal is close to closing.
As I recall, Ohana played in the youth departments of Hapoel Jerusalem, Beitar Jerusalem and Maccabi Tel Aviv and at the age of 16 he moved to the youth team of MS Ashdod. In 2019, the midfielder returned to the club from the capital, for the first time as a senior player, but the serious injuries he suffered made it difficult for him to realize his great talent.
In the end, Ohana was released from Beitar at the end of the current season after he failed to make a real mark with the Jerusalemites. He has a total of 12 goals and five assists in 101 Premier League appearances and will be hoping to return to full form under Benny Lam’s guidance.
