Exactly ten years have passed since the bitter day when the soul of Maran Pusak Hador and the leader of the Lithuanian community, Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv zt’l, was killed in Ganzi at the age of 104. This evening, in the rooms of the ultra-Orthodox, a rare video recording from inside the house during the Purim meal is revealed.

Maran’s daily schedule revolves around Torah study and there are few times when you could see him not studying, both in between times and on holidays.

This evening, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of his departure, ‘Bechadari Haredim’ reveals a video from the archive that has not yet been published in which Maran HaGrish Elyashiv Zetzel is seen at the Purim meal celebrated at his home on Hanan Street 10 in Jerusalem.

This is the last Purim that was celebrated at his home, since until then he would celebrate Purim with a meal at his son-in-law Rabbi Azriel Auerbach in the Beit Vegan neighborhood, from that year he began celebrating at home, which was the last year because a year later he was hospitalized.

In the revealed documentation, Rabbi Eliashiv Habush is seen in ‘Streimel’ eating the meal with his family members and close associates, when in front of him appear the Baal Tefila Rabbi Shushan who sings from the songs of the terrible days, the cantor Aharon Shlomo Weissman and of course the devoted grandsons Rabbi Aryeh Eliashiv and Rabbi Yehezkel Berlin who devoted themselves to grandfather.

Watch the documentary of the photographer Shoki Lerer who entered the sanctuary inside as a photographer of the great men of Israel.
