This is not the first time that actors who study in the acting workshops of Liran David, who teaches at the acting studio ‘Lartist’ in Ashdod’s Monart Center, gain resonance thanks to their roles on the big screen. Also well-known actors, among them Elad Hayon (known from the character of Amit in the “Special” series), managed to enter the industry, and continue to study at Liran’s studio. This time, it’s Liran, who realizes a long list of roles he played, managed to write a script for a short film that is expected to participate in film festivals in Israel and around the world.

The film “Lincoln X” (produced and directed by Johnny Ravid), was inspired by Tarantino’s films, and will feature experienced and well-known actors from the Israeli film industry, including Morris Cohen, Shlomi Yafarah, Reot Elosh, Chai Davidov, and more. Among the actors in the film you can also distinguish Liran’s apprentices, among them Daniel Melamed Cohen, Shelly Malka, Shai Li Almog, Hila Azaria, and of course – Elad Hayon. Alongside them, other trainees from the studio were integrated in various production positions, including Daniel Rubinstein as script director, Alon Cohen, Noa Ashkenazi and Gali Zarfati as production assistants, Roy Harosh on styling and Roni Alpert as executive producer.

At the same time, the studio held the end of the year event a few days ago, on the Monart show stage. The trainees in the studio created their own original works, and presented them as part of the year-end event, which was moving to the point of tears – when the trainees’ works reflected scenes from the lives of the youth in Israel, through skits, music videos, monologues, scenes and more.

Among the plays staged at the end of the year show was the work of Hadas Harel, 17 years old, entering the twelfth grade in Mikif D. Her presentation describes the youth as fakers of emotions, who hide their sadness behind cigarettes and drugs. “I used two specific cases from reality, each one separately, of a father and a mother whose children committed suicide. I presented the harsh criticism that is not spared from the parents, whether in the harsh monologue that consists of the two cases. I presented a mother who discovers that her son hanged himself, and another scene with my participation, when I stand up Next to a ladder and a rope, makeup is done and suddenly a shot is heard. All of this symbolizes the mental state these two children experienced before their suicide.” The clip closes with the song “Now Cloudy” which illustrates in its words the message she wanted to convey. “I had an expectation and hope that the audience would experience an emotional upheaval and realize that something is wrong here, and that an urgent change is required.”

Roi Abutbul, 14 years old, who is entering the 9th grade at Amit Y. High School, also told about his work that deals with the fact that all his life they tried to force him to attend school, even though he did not want to. The children in his class ostracized him socially on this background, and at the end of the work he makes it clear Roy said that his personal desires are important, “No parent or other person can force their children to be what they don’t want”. 11 years. However, alongside the difficulty was during a kind of relief. I was very excited to the point of shaking during the presentation of the piece, but I removed a huge stone from my heart and it was a rare experience with a feeling of liberation,” he concluded.

“The closing event of the game workshop brought to light young talents who embody great promise for the future,” said Liran David. “It reflects a harsh reality of disturbing phenomena in the lives of young people in Israeli society”, and added “I am proud of my students for their work: they wrote the works, acted in them, directed them and even composed music and edited videos as part of their work. The studio is a home for so many children who want To flourish and grow in the best possible way. Working with the studio groups is accompanied by hard work, with quite a bit of excitement that the wonderful youth arouse, and besides the exposure and pain that accompany the actor’s work and personal exposure, there are of course many moments of friendship and joy.”
