Thangavyala : Some people from various places including Pangarpet, V. Kota, Mulbagal are coming to Thangavyala with their children to beg. The officials conducted an investigation and warned them not to beg again. The officers and employees of the Department of Women and Children’s Welfare went on ’rounds’ in the main roads of Thangavyal the day before yesterday. Then, 10 women and 14 children were seen begging. They were taken to the Robertson Bay Police Station. They were interrogated separately.
All of them were taken to Kolar. A 50-year-old woman had a 1-year-old child. He repeatedly said that it was his child and his relative’s child. It was revealed that the children were being hired to beg. There is a nursery to take care of the children. We are adding to it’ they said. They said, ‘No more, we will not beg with children’.
