Opposition leader appeals to Chief Minister for salary hike for co-operative workers

Puducherry: The leader of the opposition party has demanded that a pay committee should be set up and implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendation for the employees of the Primary Agriculture Cooperative Bank. Puducherry Assembly Leader of the Opposition Siva, the petition given to the Chief Minister Rangaswamy: The pay committee of the Puducherry Primary Agriculture Cooperative Bank employees will be given a raise once in 10 years.

In 2010, the Pay Commission was set up and the recommendations of the Fifth Pay Commission were implemented. The deadline for this has expired in the year 2020 and no pay commission has been set up after this. Due to this, the employees are suffering from not getting their salary according to the increase in prices.

Therefore, immediate pay commission should be set up and implement at least Sixth Pay Commission recommendation for Primary Agriculture Co-operative Bank employees. Similarly, a wage committee should be set up for all the societies which have not received a wage hike as per the recommendation of the Salary Commission registered in the office of the Registrar of Co-operative Societies in Puducherry and steps should be taken to give a salary hike. This is stated in the petition.
