Jeddah: Al-Shaihana Saleh Al-Azas now has the reputation of being the first woman to attend a Saudi cabinet meeting. Alshaihana, who was appointed as the Cabinet Deputy Secretary General at a high rank, attended the meeting chaired by King Salman on Tuesday. With this, Alshaihana became the first woman to participate in the Saudi cabinet. King Salman appointed Alshaihana as Deputy Secretary General on July 3. Since then, the regular cabinet meeting was not held due to Hajj-related busyness. The first cabinet meeting after that was held on Tuesday night. This meeting discussed many political and economic issues. The cabinet also reviewed discussions with various heads of state, including the visit of US President Joe Biden and the summit held in Jeddah with leaders of Arab countries.

Alshaihana was born in Riyadh. Studied law at Durham University, UK. Graduated in Law in 2008. He received practical training as a lawyer at Notre Dame University in Dubai and Kuwait, Bocconi University in Italy, International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland and INSEAD Center of Advanced Studies.

Worked in business administration in Fontainebleau, France. In 2020, she was selected as one of Forbes Middle East Magazine’s 100 Most Powerful Business Women. She is one of the first Saudi women lawyers to be recognized by the New York Council. Worked in a reputed law firm in Riyadh. Later he also served as Contract Manager in Saudi Public Investment Fund.
