West Bengal is ruled by Trinamool Congress led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Partha Chatterjee was the Education Minister in 2016. At that time, there was a complaint of malpractice in the examination for the appointment of school teachers and staff. Following this, the enforcement officials arrested the state’s Industries Minister Partha Chatterjee on July 23.
Following this, Trinamool Congress General Secretary Kunal Ghosh posted on his Twitter page today, “Partha Chatterjee should be removed from all positions of the Minister and the party immediately” and later deleted the tweet shortly.
Following this, the West Bengal Cabinet meeting was held today. In that meeting, many demanded that Partha Chatterjee be removed from the party. In this situation, a statement has been issued by the West Bengal government that Partha Chatterjee has been removed from the West Bengal cabinet.
It said, “Partha Chatterjee is removed from the Department of Industry, Commerce, Information Technology and Electronics, Parliamentary Affairs, Public Enterprises and Industrial Reconstruction.”
