The law firm that introduced a program to support new parents

At the Barnea Jaffe Landa office, which specializes in the field of commercial law, they decided to make the cliché “balancing family life, home and work” a little more practical. In a letter sent by the managing partner, attorney Miki Barnea, to the firm’s 180 employees, a plan was presented that aims to support new parents.

“The program puts in order the rights that exist according to law, and adds some of our own innovations, which come to add to the rights given by law,” Barnea wrote. “As lawyers, we are aware of the commitment and sensitivity involved in equal treatment for women and men, even when we handle the sensitive issue of mothers (also known as parenting the main caregiver) and fathers (known as the parent who is not the primary caregiver), and all without gender differences, inclination and types of parenting.”

And these are the main points of the program: If you stay on maternity leave for more than the first 15 weeks (which are paid), you will be entitled to a grant from the office for each month you continue on parental leave, up to a maximum of three months. For each father who is not the primary caregiver, 5 days of leave will be added at the expense of the office, which can be used within 30 days of the birth.

For mothers on maternity leave, meetings will be held once every two months with other mothers from the office, which include activities adapted to babies. As for returning to work, in the first month their work will be 80% full-time (with full compensation), after which the scope will be adjusted for each mother.
