Prime Minister Modi will arrive in Chennai this evening on a 2-day visit for the opening ceremony of the Chess Olympiad. The Prime Minister, who will arrive in Chennai this evening from Ahmedabad in a private flight, will spend some time relaxing in the airport’s VIP room. After that, he left for Adyar INS base by helicopter and went to Nehru Stadium at 6 pm.
Security has been made with the help of 22 thousand policemen in Chennai alone for the Prime Minister’s visit. Apart from this, the help of NCC students has also been sought for security work. 5 layers of security have been placed on their parade. These 5 tiers include National Security Forces known as NLG, Central-State Intelligence Division Police, Local Police Officers, Armed Forces Police, Tamil Nadu Special Forces Police.

The Tamil Nadu government has made colorful arrangements like banners and lights to welcome Prime Minister Modi today after 5 pm. Strong reception arrangements have been made on behalf of Tamil Nadu BJP. No one is currently allowed inside the arena except for key ministers and party officials.
