Marianne Vos won the sixth stage of the Tour de France Women between Saint-Dié-des-Vosges and Rosheim on Friday. This is the second victory for the current yellow jersey.

It is stainless. The “Cannibal” of women’s cycling struck again on Friday July 29 in the Tour de France Women. The Dutch Marianne Vos was the strongest in the final sprint in the streets of Rosheim at the end of the sixth stage, consolidating her yellow jersey. She is ahead on the line Marta Bastianelli (UAE) and Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx).

This victory almost ensures him to win the green jersey, provided he completes the Tour. Indeed, her main rival, Lorena Wiebes, suffered a fall 21 km from the finish, preventing her from scoring points in the final sprint.

Marie Le Net, combative of the day

The breakaway took a long time to form on this rugged stage, the first part of a Vosges triptych which will put the riders’ legs to the test during the final weekend. 80 km from the goal, a breakaway of 14 riders, including French champion Audrey Cordon-Ragot (Trek Segafredo) and Frenchwoman Marie Le Net (FDJ-Suez-Futuroscope).

However, the peloton never wanted to let them win the stage. The gap is controlled from start to finish. Marie Le Net still offered herself a last stand before being caught up in the descent leading to the finish. In the absence of victory, this solitary adventure offers him the red combative bib of the day.

On Saturday, the peloton enters the tough Tour de France with the first of two mountainous stages. Three big climbs on the program: the Petit Ballon (9.3 km at 8.1% average gradient), the Col du Platzerwasel (7.1 km at 8.3%) and the Grand Ballon (13.5 km at 6 .7%), the longest climb of this 2022 edition.
