Moscow: Eight people died in a fire in a hostel in Russia yesterday.
In Moscow, Russia, there are many hostels for low-wage workers and immigrants from other countries. A fire broke out in a hostel yesterday. More than 200 people from here fled. But because the windows and doors on the first floor could not be opened, eight persons perished in the fire; Four injured people were hospitalized.
Regarding the accident, Kirill Shitov, head of Moscow’s security committee, said, “I had complained to the authorities about security violations at the hotel. Had the authorities taken action, this accident could have been avoided,” he said.
