CWG 2022| India wins second gold in Commonwealth Games; Jeremy sets a record in weightlifting

2nd gold for India in Commonwealth Games (CWG 2022). India won the gold medal in the men’s 67 kg category. India’s Jeremy Lalrinnunga won gold in the 67 kg category with a Games record.

Nineteen-year-old Jeremy’s record is in the first Commonwealth Games. Jeremy lifted 300kg in a snatch of 140kg and a clean snatch of 160kg.

Mirabhai Chanu won gold in the 49 kg category with a Games record. This is followed by Jeremy’s new record. With this, India won four medals including two gold, two silver and one bronze in weightlifting.

Chanu won the second consecutive Commonwealth Games gold by lifting 201 kg with a Games record. India’s Sanket Sargar won silver in men’s 59 kg weightlifting category. Gururaja Pujari won bronze in the 61 kg category. Bindhya Rani won the fourth medal for India. He lifted 202 kg in the 55 kg category. Games record by lifting 116 kg in clean and jerk.
