Due to the increase in tariff, those who have more than 15 looms will have to pay an additional electricity bill of over Rs 250 per day. There is a danger that the power loom industry will be destroyed due to the increase in power charges,” he said.
The DMK government is taking away the free electricity provided by the DMK. With regard to the impact of the increase in electricity tariff, information minister Saminathan and ministers of handloom, electricity and housing in collaboration with the powerloom federation met with the chief minister to bring it to the attention of the chief minister.
