Fuels: the fall in prices is accelerating for gasoline and diesel

by time news

This is news that should lighten the budget of motorists. Fuel prices, which had already been on a downward trend for just over a month, continued to fall.

Diesel oil fell by 6 cents last week, from 1.93 euros per liter to just over 1.87 euros per liter on average, according to figures published by the Ministry of Ecological Transition on Monday afternoon.

The cost of the SP95-E10 is also shrinking: the liter has lost more than 7 cents in one week, its price standing at just over 1.80 euros per liter on average. Six weeks ago, at its highest, it was 2.09 euros per liter on average. A barrel of oil sold for 108 dollars (105 euros) last week, according to the same figures.

Several promotional offers

A drop in prices at the pump which is accompanied by several promotional offers from the brands. As at Casino, where each weekend, until August 31, the price of fuel in service stations is lowered to 0.85 euros per liter, the difference between this amount and the price actually paid per liter being reimbursed under the form of a voucher, usable in store.

And at the start of the school year, other boosts will be offered to motorists. TotalEnergies has announced that it wants to apply a fuel discount of 20 cents per liter in September and October. After this date, the gas and oil giant will continue the operation until the end of 2022. The discount per liter will then correspond to 10 cents per litre.

Note that the prices displayed at the pump currently take into account the discount of 18 cents per liter of fuel in mainland France, also applied in August. This discount must be reassessed at the start of the school year: it should drop from 18 cents to 30 cents in September and October.
