A man who spent 31 years of his life hunting the Loch Ness monster on the coast in Scotland said that in all that time he only saw ‘proof’ of the monster once. A monster hunter who has lived alone on the shores of Loch Ness in Scotland for more than 30 years has said that the closest thing he has to proof that the monster exists is the one time he saw it. According to him he has no regrets and is ready to die there to prove that the monster exists.

When Steve Feltham turned 28, he decided to quit his day job and set out to fulfill his lifelong dream of finding the mythical Loch Ness Monster.

The Loch Ness monster, also known as ‘Nessie’, is a legendary monster that supposedly lives in Loch Ness in Scotland. The place has become a tourist attraction and many come to the area trying to watch a monster that actually does not exist and have never seen it. Many researchers have checked whether the monster exists in the lake using geological studies and sonar, and have not been able to prove that it exists.

After selling all his possessions, Steve bought a motorhome for his hunting, and parked on the banks of the river Lech Nesenev-1991. And amazingly, he has lived there ever since. Now 59, Steve has lived more than half of his adult life as a hermit, spending every day gazing out into the dark black waters of the Loch.

Speaking to the Daily Star, he revealed the best sighting he’s ever had, saying “the closest I ever got to proof was many years ago, in 1992. At around 11am, something shot through the water like a torpedo.”

“All I could see was a spray of water or whatever it was. It couldn’t have been the salmon, which is our biggest fish here, I just froze and it was gone, I had to take a picture, I thought, if it happens in my first year, I’ll see it again At some point, but I’m still waiting to this day.”

He said in an interview: “I hold the world record for monster hunting. I’ve kept the lock since June 19, 1991, so 31 years in total. I always came here in my spare time, I was obsessed with it. In the end I decided that what I really wanted to do with my life was Come find the Loch Ness monster.”

“My ambition is to photograph an observation, I’ll stay here until I get the proof, it’s my life’s work. I have to prove to myself that it’s real. It’s something I need to get closure on.”

Steve, who finances his life and his hobby by making figures of the monster and selling them on a website he founded, is not deterred by his lack of success in finding the monster, “We know we have something here that is much bigger than the fish.”
