The chairman of ‘Torah Judaism’, MK Moshe Gafni, this evening (Monday) attacks the chairman of Shas, Aryeh Deri, who expressed earlier today that he ‘takes responsibility’ for ‘Torah Judaism’ which will only go with Netanyahu: “Arrogance, ridiculed and irrelevant.”
During a speech to seminar directors, Gafni replied to Deri and said: “May no one take care of us, take responsibility for the fact that we go with the right, let no one do us favors. We do what the elders of Israel tell us. I have been in the Knesset for 33 years, I have always followed with the right because the traditional public is on the right.
“Such people come and take ownership for themselves with such arrogance that they will make sure that ‘Torah Judaism’ goes with the right, goes with Netanyahu, it looks ridiculous, it doesn’t sound good, it’s not even relevant.”
According to him: “I wish they would learn from us that in an incomprehensible way we went with the right, because the traditional public is there. In the other parties there are people who do not believe and do not do what a Jew should do and we are not there.”
Earlier, Shas Chairman Deri expressed himself in a conversation with journalist Amit Segal at the Gush Katif conference: “I tell you I take responsibility for ‘Torah Judaism’, ‘Torah Judaism’ belongs to our Gush, it will go to the government headed by Netanyahu, it You will not go to any government without the Likud.”
