Court-appointed lawyer will defend Caro Quintero from being extradited to the US

The former leader and founder of Guadalajara Cartel, Rafael Caro Quintero, agreed to be legally represented by a court-appointed attorney. The litigant appointed free of charge, will defend the drug dealer in the amparo proceeding filed against the order of apprehension and its possible delivery in extradition a USA.

As referred The universalthe lawyer was appointed by the Federal Institute of Public Defender (IFDP), according to the notification made this Monday by the First District Judge in matters of Amparo and Federal Trials of the State of Mexico, Abigaíl Ocampo.

In the amparo, the judge granted the outright suspension against the delivery of Caro Quintero to the United States without prior extradition trial, a measure that has already been challenged by the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).

Caro Quintero, also famous for his life full of luxury, declared in May 2020 that he did not have the financial resources to flee the country, despite the fact that the United States government argued that he and his family have 5 properties in the state of Jaliscowhich he ordered to be confiscated.
