Two people opened fire this evening (Tuesday) at vehicles on Dizingoff Street in central Tel Aviv – and tried to escape on a motorcycle. The police announced that the background to a criminal incident. Two suspects in the act were arrested and taken for questioning.
Many frightened residents reported hearing the shooting to the emergency services, not far from the scene of the attack that happened on the street about four months ago. Initially there was concern that this was an attack on a nationalist background, but with the arrest of the suspects it became clear that this was a criminal incident.
The police said that “the Israel Police received a report of hearing gunshots on Dizingoff St. Tel Aviv. At this stage there are no known casualties. The background to the incident is apparently criminal.”
