Embarrassment for the Prime Minister: During the assessment of the security situation that Prime Minister Yair Lapid was supposed to hold this morning (Tuesday) with Defense Minister Benny Gantz and other high-ranking officials in the security system, embarrassment was noted for several minutes, after the Prime Minister was unable to speak during most of the consultation, as reported this evening on News 12.
According to the report, Lapid, who was supposed to hold the discussion and lead it, was not on the line at all during most of the conversation. Two of the participants in the assessment of the situation, which happened while Lapid was on his way to visit the prison service, said that Lapid was unable to connect to the call several times despite trying for many minutes, according to the report, to connect using the red phone in his car.
As a result, a significant part of the conversation time Lapid was not on the line at all and the one who actually conducted the discussion and consultation was Defense Minister Gantz.
Lapid’s office said in response that “we do not refer to classified discussions”, while other officials who were in the conversation said that there were general difficulties connecting, and among other things, the head of the Shin Bet also fell down.
