Sum: a worker dies buried under 6500 tons of grain

It did not survive under the weight of the grains. A 53-year-old man died when a grain silo fell on him on Tuesday in an agricultural cooperative in Crécy-en-Ponthieu (Somme).

According to France 3, around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, the silo door opened for an unknown reason. 6,500 tons of grain poured over the victim who was buried and found himself wedged between the door and the wall under the pressure of the grain. When they arrived, paramedics pronounced him dead.

Two colleagues of the victim, aged 59 and 48, were also buried under the grains but were able to get out on their own. They were hospitalized.

An investigation has been opened to determine the exact circumstances of the incident. According to Le Courrier Picard, the scientific team of the gendarmerie moved to the scene.
