Malappuram ∙ Complaint that wife lost her sight due to beating by her husband in Kondoti. Following the complaint, the police arrested her husband Feroz Khan. The woman said that she faced severe physical and mental abuse from her husband. Nafia, the complainant, says that her husband beat her up on the 15th, when he alleged that she was late in taking Thorth to the bathroom.
Her husband Feroze Khan brutally beat her with a belt without giving any reason. Kannan was also hit with a belt during the beating. As the beating became severe, Nafia collapsed. Then sought treatment at Kozhikode Medical College. Her husband and family threatened her not to tell anyone that she was injured in the beating.
Nafia says that beatings were common for the past few years and she was not even treated as a wife. After receiving the woman’s complaint, Vazhakad police arrested Karad Taithodi Feroz Khan. In the past, the young woman could not bear the beating and had sought refuge in her own house several times.
The couple has two children. A case has also been registered against Firoz Khan’s father Muhammad Kutty and mother Safiya. The arrested Feroz Khan was produced before Malappuram First Class Court and remanded.
