Television is changing: the mythological series will soon be off the screens

by time news

“Days of Our Lives”, the legendary soap opera and the second-longest entertainment series that any television network has ever aired (now in its 57th season), will leave the NBC channel and broadcasts in September. Its new home will be on NBC’s Peacock streaming platform, where it will continue to exist and new seasons will continue to be created. The network will fill the void created with an additional hour of news.

“This change benefits both Peek and NBC and reflects our broader strategy to strengthen engagement with viewers,” said NBCUniversal Television and Streaming Chairman Mark Lazarus. “With a large percentage of the ‘Days of Our Lives’ audience already watching digitally, the move This allows us to build the show’s loyal fan base in streaming and at the same time strengthen the network’s daytime offerings with an urgent opportunity for live programming for partners and consumers.”
